Ive rewatched it a few times up to the timeskip but havent touched the series in a few years now aside from taking a quick peek at the manga every now and then, but after the timeskip, the show lost so much of its magic. This is also when I started noticing that each episode contained much less overall content than what it used to. Characters would run from one room to the next with a bit of dialogue and then thats it. I get that they do that to avoid filler, but in the end it feels like 99% of episodes are filler. A fuckin cartoon shouldnt piss me off like this but it does.

The panels are too busy. I tried for a while but the whole thing is a clusterfuck for me. Maybe One Piece just isnt for me anymore.

I eventually got bored with the formula of

- Go to new place
- New place is either weird and amazing, or spooky and creepy
- Something sinister is going on in the shadows
- Antagonist launches evil plan
- Straw hat crew slowly understands their predicament and has to fight against the odds!

I still enjoy it but I agree after the timeskip, the anime progress very slowly and quite draggy especially the Doflamingo arc, man that was a slog. The story also not as good as before. I guess I kinda saw it coming though when I heard that the series was supposed to be only 5 years long and end back on 2004. They are just prolonged it because it become ridiculously popular. Oda probably did not have enough interesting idea to keep the show as good as the beginning after a while so the quality took a hit.

It takes a few minutes to read a manga chapter. So its taking a few minutes of content and stretching it to fit a 30 minute tv show block.
