There are serial killers who will never be caught.

There's also those dudes who keep women locked up in a basement for years. We've had a few of those hit the news after the guy does something careless and the woman escapes. It's pretty much guaranteed there are other more competent dudes doing this who will never be found out.

I'm on Season 6 of Dexter and my mom's fiance told me, "It's unrealistic. There aren't that many serial killers." Correct or incorrect? It takes place solely in Miami.

But they also said on Dexter that people need to kill 3 or more people to be considered a serial killer. So if there are a bunch of unsolved murders, they could have all been done by different people so they wouldn't be serial murders.
