My Irish friend and I were joking around about how he was losing weight. I made a comment about how it must be tough having to go through the potato famine. His smile faded and he silent for a bit. Dunno if what I said was out of line.

Jokes about the Holocaust are generally seen as acceptable in Israel depending on context but I hear joking about the Israeli women sleeping with the Palestinians is a huge taboo
