I actually liked the idea of Lost Izalith. What killed it for me was the underwhelming boss battle and the crappy resolution to the fascinating lore built up around it.

The level itself only annoyed me in that there was too little of it. I got across the lava cavern thinking it was just the entrance to the area and would then lead into some vast complex or something. In my head i had something akin to how the Sunken City area in DS2 turned out, but instead it was over just when i thought it was getting interesting.

Warframe: Planet Eris - The infestation levels are clustered and a mess, i hate it when the level is tilted
Link to the Past: Ice Palace - A major pain, and a bit too long of a dungeon.
Super Mario World: Forest of Illusion - Tricky secrets to find in order to progress the game, and somewhat difficult levels
Sonic 2: Metropolis Zone - Awesome music-- *slicer*, cool theme-- *exploding star*
Super Mario 64: Tiny-Huge world - Cool concept, if only the camera could agree\
Ocarina of Time: Jabu Jabu - I never liked levels when you are inside something living, its just creepy and disgusting, thankfully that trend is somewhat dead
Half Life 2: Ravenholm - ....creepy, and just feels extremely out of place for a Half life game
Mirrors Edge - I forget the level, it was a orange warehouse and you had to climb boxes/giant coolers to navigate, I was just...lost and annoyed
Mega Man 8: Wily 1 - Jump jump, slide slide, die die, repeat repeat

3D Zeldas: The first dungeon of MM, WW, & TP are so boring it prevents me from replaying them.
Radiant Historia: Final Dungeon resorts to block puzzles that you have to fight for no reason.
Final Fantasy Tactics: I always struggle with Zeakden Fort personally, my teams are too weak to split up that early typically.
Mario 3: The Ice World has pretty bad level design, the ice itself isnt bad but the levels are just... meh.

it's not frustrating, or anything, but it's pretty dull, IMO.

World 1 of Super Mario Bros 3. Not because it's bad per se, but because you always have to go through at least the first three or four levels just to get to all the other, cooler worlds.

The bird and the flying worm and the bull were my favorites. That flying worm fight was sooooooo beautiful. But the horror I felt with that damn sand worm chasing me was unreal. Though tbf, the electric eel was the one that I actually hated the most because of the terror. At least with the freaking sandworm, your death was quick and painless.

So.. fine, I'll change my vote to the eel, followed by the basilisk. The sandworm fight was pretty fun once you knew what to do from the start. It's just that unlike the other colossi, the sandworm was already halfway up your ass within 5 seconds of its introduction.
