Current Events > Ever sell a game and then regret it?

I am right now. I sold a game to my local Used Game Store to buy Dr. Mario and now i regret it and they priced it too high to just buy it back. What do I do?

Yeah, I had a copy of that mech game on Xbox Steel Battalion with the gigantic controller with the 60 light up buttons and sold it all for like $100 in my late teen years. Come to find out recently how much it's worth and I was pretty mad.

I sold Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. God knows why, I actually liked it a lot, so I regretted that hard.

I had Illusion of Gaia on the SNES when I was like 5, though it wasn't meant for me: my dad bought for himself. I eventually sold it or convinced him to or something, I got stuck in the Seaside Palace I think (that was my latest memory of it). I strangely obsessed over the game though, but it was impossible to find offline. (My parents wouldn't use their credit card, and I didn't really know of the less-than-legal means back then.) I eventually got an Amazon gift card when I was 14; among the things I bought was that game. I loved it, probably way more than I could have as a kid.

Fun fact btw: when playing it at 14 I got stuck in a few places in the game. This was noteworthy because these places preceded the Seaside Palace: when I was 5 I wasn't even using the internet so God knows how I got that far nearly a decade prior. And I remember the Seaside Palace specifically because it had this one room with a lot tentacle/trunk-like vines and a pool of water in it.

I don't know why so many arbitrary memories of the game stuck with me but hey, they drove me to get it and explore the other entries of the Soul Blazer trilogy when I learned that was a thing.

Dr. Mario has a bunch of ports so you could look at one of those, or shop online for it.

Illusion of Gaia, still such a nostalgic and great game.

On topic: more than a few. Usually not until years/decades later. Time splitters for instance, but by the time I wanted to play it again I just bought a Wii for like 50 bucks and a few GameCube controllers for it so me and my buddies could get back into it.

I didn't sell Dr Mario I bought it, the GB version to be exact. I sold a DNA fighting game I recently tried to get 100% on and I got stuck on a fight in story mode and got mad and sold it.

I played all of them except the first and Color Splash.

Aside from a brief period of liking them all (I eventually realized how bad Sticker Star was), TTYD has always been tops for me.

So far though the original is rivaling it pretty hard. I also feel like a lot more love and personality went into this one.

Yeah TTYD was a fantastic followup. Idk which ones better TBH but I played the first on release so those memories make me super biased lol. Plus I loved the worlds in 1 so much.

I haven't heard of color splash though, must have missed it but I'm gonna have to take a look into it now just to see lol!

Sold my Sega Mastersystem when I upgraded to a SNES. Only console I've ever sold and kind of regret it, even though it would only be sat in a box in the attic or something if I still had it.
