o Girl who Survived SANDY HOOK is now a Social Justice Activist!!!

Full Throttle 03/26/18 12:44:22 AM #1:	Would you be mad if AR-15's are Banned? Yes No View Results 12 y/o Lauren Milgram's life was forever changed when she was just 7 years old at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newton, Connecticut where she survived the shooting at the school which is one of the worst in school shooting history!! Lauren was one of the 800,000 people who marched down Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington DC to fight for stricter gun laws as her life was saved because of her second grade teacher, Kaitlin Roig-DeBellis who hid her and 15 other students in a tiny bathroom off their class in 2012 Lauren and her now 15 y/o brother, Dalton who was also there at Sandy Hook and survived are now fighting for their lives and future children as she said "I'm marching because i don't want this to happen to any other children. We can't keep living like this. It should've happened a long time ago..after all these shootings, there really should have been change" Lauren and her brother were inspired by survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas massacre in Florida as she said "It's amazing that the Parkland students are doing it already. They're so ahead in this generation, at this age they're making such a big difference" She couldn't speak out 5 years ago as she had to grapple with the loss of friends such as Daniel Barden and she still wears a heart necklace that he gave to her. Her parents were also inspired and helped motivate them to join the protest. The family boarded a bus from Newtown at 5am to reach the rally carrying signs that said "Enough". Among those attended was Matthew Soto whose sister, Victoria was one of the 6 teachers killed during the massacre as he spoke on the protest and said "This is not okay. We do not have to live like this" Tommy Murray also survived the Newtown Shooting who now attends high school spoke at the rally and attacked the GOP for bending to the NRA and have called upon action. The Trump administration have said they moved to Ban Bump Stocks but that's as far as they'll go regarding Guns as they said they will focus on "mental health" instead. Lauren says she will continue to fight for stricter gun control as she says her social activism has opened her eyes to fight for a better america. Would you be mad if AR-15's are banned?
