I can't see MS seeing much value in keeping them around since they only exist as a shell of themselves and haven't had a real hit in literal decades. Could they end up like Visceral if Sea of Thieves under performs?

Probably, they may try to keep the name around though since its such an iconic video game company. Killer Instinct 2013 was a great game, but I don't know if you can really credit that to Rare since you had multiple companies working on it.

Basically after a few hours you have practically experienced the whole game. The only thing you can really do then is repeat stuff over and over to grind for cosmetic gear. The game may not be a failure since it seems to be in part designed for streaming. Don't know if that will really help it though.

maybe they should have made a good game and not an early access 60 dollar game and say "hey mores coming lol!"

theres only one publisher i really only pay full price these days and thats blizzard. i preordred the new WoW xpac cuz i KNOW that even if i dont like the xpac, even if i hate the new changes, im getting a FULL game with FREE updates.

Goes to show what's wrong with video game critics these days. If a major release is a steaming pile of dogshit, it gets a 7.

I've played quite a bit of Sea of Thieves through Gamepass, prolly ~12 hours. It's as if they built the engine and basic mechanics and didnt add the game. There's insultingly little to do for a $60 game and it deserves no more than a 4/10 imo.
