Super Best Friends mentioned this album on the podcast last week and I had to check it out. It's called Memories of Tokyo-To: An Ode to Jet Set Radio by 2 Mello. It's pretty kickin'. I loved the music in the games but when listening back to the soundtracks they are very repetitive. This album takes that style and stretches it out to a normal song with parts and what not.

I love Thales games and music. I can never find where to play the first one, though. I can play the second one.

My cousin likes the one song called, "Birthday Cake". He use to always sing it. I like it, too. Haha.

Good times. One of the only few games I finished on my Dreamcast.

Jet Set Radio, Resident Evil:Code Veronica, Skyes of Arcadia, Shenmue and Grandia II are like the only ones I managed to finish.

Then I got a PS2 and totally forgot about Dreamcast, it's still stashed somewhere at my aunt's house.

Man, I could really go for buying an old Dreamcast, House of the Dead II, and two light guns. I would play two player and dual wield that shit.

I remember playing it when i was 12 and my mum came running in to my room because all she could hear from downstairs was "the music just turns me on"

I liked some of the music in Jet Set Radio Future. That's the only game in the series I played.

To answer TC's question, I've only played a demo of the first game and a little bit of it's GBA port but Jet Set Radio Future is my favorite Xbox game of all time. My younger brother got it with his Xbox back in either late 2002 or 2003 and, when he moved on to newer systems years after, he let me keep his copy which I still own. Can't even count the amount of times I've beaten the game front to back.

I never found the music all that repetitive or at least not enough to annoy me. In fact, I love the music in both games and listen to them regularly on my phone. The only track from both games I used to hate was Birthday Cake from JSRF but it's grown on me enough for me to tolerate it. I still think it's the worst song in the game.

Its a hidden gem series for sure.

Love the music style. Wish I could hop in a time machine and go back to when clubs played that kind of music.

It might be repetitive, but at least all the songs dont sound the same like modern music.
