No, I also wouldn't be stupid with the money either. Small house, internet and TV and I'm good.

That's stupid when you look at your opportunity cost. Especially if you won millions.

I wouldn't risk going broke like a lot of other people do who win.

That's not the point. You're just letting it sit there instead of trying to make more money off it.

There's a comfort in knowing that if something goes wrong in life I'll have plenty of financial backup.

I'd quit my current job and travel and kayak and surf and box and drink and take classes. Then eventually I think I'd end up wanting to work at something.

So you are OK with losing thousands of dollars a year? Instead of making and growing your investment?

Depends on whether the winnings is enough to last me a lifetime. If it is then I will quit my job. I am not that crazy in spending, and I don't really party and such. So I will probably be safe and not screw myself over. Also I love gaming, so I would just buy games every now and then and play them all day long!

I think he/she meant that there is always a risk in investments, no matter how low it is. So it is better to just hold the money in the bank or something.

Not for anyone else, no.

But I'd take the opportunity to work through all the businessses I've always wanted to start, work them at my own pace and sell them after a couple years to start another.

Yes. I'd finish polishing off my student loans, finish paying off my parents house, and live modestly or just donate the rest of it to a cause I like.

Yeah.

I wouldn't tell anyone I won. I'll just continue on like nothing happened

Some states broadcast the winners. Kind of dumb

I know you can request they not announce your name in some states, because I'm pretty sure that happened with a recent lottery winner.
