I don't know, it looks too much like a Transformers film to my liking. One thing that made the original stand out was that the robots weren't fast moving, so it gave more of a punch when the Jaegars landed a hit on a Kaiju.

Yeah, that was pretty much what I wanted to see were the giant fights

I heard from my friend that the Jaegars vs. Kaiju fight doesn't even happen till the very end of the movie, is that true?

Yeah it was pretty fun. Not as good as the original but it was still surprisingly entertaining.

Wish the story was more engaging but it looks like they set up the next one to be epic.
