Just like the character she plays on TV, Roseanne Barr is a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump. During an interview on Thursdays Jimmy Kimmel Live, the comedian was grilled about her political views, including her disdain for former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Werent you, like, a good friend of Hillary Clintons at one point? Kimmel asked. Barr, initially hesitant to say anything, responded, Yeah, I was. Kimmel then extended his inquiry by asking what changed, at which point the sitcom star turned to TV husband John Goodman and whispered, Why is he asking me this question?

But Kimmel persisted, bringing up one of Barrs notorious tweet storms: I think you accused her of being a murderer on Twitter, he said, to which she fired back, I did not! When he promised to find that tweet in a matter of seconds, Barr gave him the finger and declared, I deleted it, so fuck you!

Barr went on to explain that she had some disagreement with Clintons foreign policy, prompting an otherwise silent Goodman to defend the onetime Secretary of State by saying she had one! Barr later argued that shes still the same socially liberal person she always has been, telling Kimmel that you all went so fucking far to the left that you lost everyone.

I think if you have to construe her statement as anything but illogical, it'd have to be that she associates "left" with Hillary's uncanny ability to be unappealing in every respect. She really managed to alienate certain people even tho that wasnt her intent by feeling completely out of touch.

I never got this argument. Being liberal has always meant breaking away from society and pushing for progress. You don't get to say that you supported gay people in the 90s but don't support trans people in the 2010s because you think people "wen't so fucking far." No, you just didn't keep up.
Insert other social issues if you're cool with trans or whatever.

It also doesn't make sense with what we saw in 2016 and today. Clinton was fairly centrist, only seeming left when compared to her Republican opponents. As said in this topic, the Democrat party hasn't really made any major shifts.
