Essentially adding a $5 tax to any $15 increments you use to buy something on Battle.net. That's an extra $20 on every copy of CoD that someone buys with WoW gold.

Recently they have introduced this token, which costs $20, and can be redeemed for 1 month of playtime.

People can buy this token, and sell it for ingame gold.

This means that if you are good enough at farming gold ingame, you never have to pay the subscription fee again.

It also means that someone else is paying your subscription fee at a $5 markup, meaning blizz gets more $$$

I don't think you're quite understanding.

Person A buys the token in the Battle.net shop for $20. Blizzard automatically puts this token in the WoW auction house for a gold price that is determined by the supply/demand of the token (currently at 180K). Person B buys this token with 180k gold and redeems it for either a month of WoW subscription or for $15 added to their Battle.net account. Person A gets the 180k gold added to their WoW character.

Blizzard simultaneously replaced gold sellers with themselves and made it so any $15 increment you use the token for essentially gives them an extra five bucks. I bought the BFA CE with WoW tokens and Blizzard got an extra $25 or so on that transaction vs me just buying it with cash.
