Fighting games dont even match RTS in terms of technical skill or upper limit for reflexes and the like. And fighting games have absolutely nothing going for them in terms of long term match strategy

I said competetively. You can say the same thing about any game in a non-competetive scenario. Pick the most op character in dota or overwatch, pick best gun in csgo, pick most op character in street fighter, none of these games are 100% perfectly balanced. At the competetive level, the players know how to counter "easy win builds"

Difference is, you can use the best character in a FPS and still suck shit if you have no skill. In an online RTS, you can memorize the right pattern of creating the OP army and overrun solely if you are fast enough. It's a matter of highlight and click, sit back and watch the result.

FPS still requires the aiming and timing regardless of character or unit used. It's not even comparable.

There's virtually no thinking involved with an RTS if you don't want there to be. I can buy one I never played in my life, youtube the best online strategy, practice it offline for an hour, and dominate online against any user uneducated about that strategy.

I like both genre of games, but you aren't some superior Rick and Morty fan brain of a genius because you learned how to quickly take down someone and repeat the identical plan over and over online against those who may try something different. Repetitive clicking doesn't make you superior to a fan of another genre of games, and the fact that you feel that way speaks volumes against what's wrong with the online gaming community.

It's not very interactive or immersive. It's kind of all gameplay and nothing else. It's very targeted toward people who see the entire world in numbers.
