You think it's entirely due to America? Usually when a movie hits the billion mark it's because of china and/or foreign territories, but wikipedia seems to state that half a billion alone was in america and canada. I want to see how much of that half a billion was in america, because most movies only gross around 200 mil in america, which means there are people not watching movies that deserve to be watched.

the team up movies are the big draw of the series and the big events. they are more expensive to make, and are more ambitious. they deserve to be more successful and create more hype than a movie about one super hero. what should be more exciting? a small adventure with Black Panther? or a giant adventure involving the entire universe fighting the most anticipated super villain in all history to save all life in the universe from extinction and we get to see every hero meet each other and fight alongside each other?

the sad part is that michonne from the walking dead may leave the show over this because her role in black panther has boosted her popularity in hollywood so she can use this to become a movie star.
which sucks cause it looks like maggie's actress is leaving as well so there isnt much reason to keep watching since that will mean 4 out of my top 5 favorite characters will be gone

I haven't seen Ragnarok either. I haven't had a chance to go to the theater lately. I am rewatching the MCU in order, on Antman and working my way to Ragnarok. the most recent MCU movie I have seen is Homecoming

Isn't this basically what they've done with Iron Man? I'm not really familiar with the comics but by my understanding IM wasn't a major character until the movies and comic civil war. With RDJ likely moving on soon and Evans not wanting to stick around much longer either BP seems as good a choice as any to lead in phase 4.

Iron Man wasn't famous to most people. but he has always been one of the most important people in the marvel world. I'm talking inside the fictional universe. Iron Man is a very important person. he was known by comic readers. he wasn't known by non comic readers until the movies.

As a white male it was a decent movie. It didnt further the MCU other than give us more of an idea what Vibranium is. I think Ragnarok was the far better movie. I also think that whatever Marvel movie was going to release before IW was going to sell loads better than the others mainly because the DVD wont be out before IW.

Um, that's a lie lol They've NEVER showed anyone in the MU as racist towards Wakanda. In fact, the U.N. often tries to approach them and, again, the Avengers have had him as a member/leader for years.

if anyone becomes the new leader if both Tony and Steve die, I think it will be Carol Danvers. Marvel in the comics was pushing Carol for years and her movie next year is gonna try to promote her as an important person. she will be in Infinity Gauntlet probably as a major figure that helps to stop Thanos. and in Phase 4 I bet she becomes the leader of the Avengers
