Reckon practicing for about one hour a day for about a year would get you pretty decent? I've heard violin is the one instrument where you really need lessons. You can't just be bedroom violinist.

I already play guitar and now I'm learning the keyboards.

I doubt there exists a solid answer to this question. Unexplained Innate talent and aptitude can be latent within certain individuals, and they not even know it.

This, mainly. There are inherent talents to musical ability that will greatly influence learning time. Some people have a natural grasp of scales and simply "know" what notes make up a particular key, while others have to manually think about them.
