I'm playing it again and having a great time tbqh, the wingsuit really adds a lot.

The only tangible thing that's worse IMO is that you can't let a jet engine idle while you climb on top.

It's been a while, but off the top of my head it was because the map wasn't as diverse as Just Cause 2's and some people thought that there were better set pieces in Just Cause 2 (IIRC a big complaint was that the coolest thing in JC3 was the missile disarm thing at the end of the tutorial, which was pretty much a copy of the ending of JC2).

The first didn't really bother me, I thought the map in JC3 was beautiful even if it was repetitive. And I agree with the set pieces not being as good, but then again the main appeal of Just Cause for me has always been just taking over the islands and causing chaos, not really the story or the set pieces.

I think the DLC might have improved things too, I never played it but I remember hearing they brought in fun goofy shit like Mechs and such.

I've only played 3 but I really don't like how there's no crouch or run button. Or a cover system. I know it's designed this way because they want you to take advantage of the tethers/wingsuit but there's been several deaths I could of avoided if I could of just ducked under something I was nearby.

Supposedly it was really buggy but I didn't have many issues. I thought it was better than 2 in almost every way. 2 had a better, more varied world and I liked the story better, but 3 had way better cities and the driving and shooting felt a lot better IMO.

I couldn't get into JC2 or the third one idk i find those game slow paced and tedious. I had the complete edition on ps3 and a free JC3 from ps plus subscription.

No crouch??? That's just ridiculous tbh. It should mandatory in shooting games.

Anyways, i found jc 2 to be boring because it was the same enemies and the story was like 3 hours long.

My personal complaints:

Bad performance issues.

It wasn't as big of an improvement to the series as 2 was. The weapon variety and wingsuit were welcome additions, but otherwise it felt kind of like more of the same.

In fact it took a few steps back, such as removing quick time events for certain destructible objects (like oil pipeline control terminals and certain antennas). QTE in general are kind of annoying, and it was annoying having to go through one to hijack tanks and helicopters in 2, but they could have at least kept the less common destruction ones in. ALSO, I never figured out if there was a way to grapple enemies towards you easily like in 2 - it was very satisfying pulling someone off a tower with a quick button press.

Dumb friendly AI. I loved that the rebels dispatched friendly forces to help attack military bases but the AI always died pretty quickly and it would have been great if there were a way to actually direct them to attack or defend certain locations.

Respawning enemies... this just bugs me in any game.

The upgrade system was disappointing... there were cool things to unlock, but you had to put a lot of time into doing the various challenges to even unlock the upgrades.

It had "Mafia" syndrome imo - the only way to get a bonus from collecting the collectibles is when you complete a set of collectibles, but you only really complete the sets when you're at the end of the game and by that point there really isn't anything else to do... so it's pointless. I don't care if I have a fancy pants golden helicopter with a shield because there are no enemies then. Maybe it was different if you played the DLC after the story idk.

Oh yeah just remembered bikes and planes control like ass.

And the infinitely respawning enemies is a relic from a bygone era.

Theyre lucky blowing shit up is fun or I would of dropped it hours ago.
