-_- Jesus Murphy.

There's like a million places to learn Spanish essentially for free, but only one very expensive private tutor for Russian, which I actually need to learn for future trips.

Might be time to invest in Rosetta Stone ASAP. Still expensive, but not 30 per hour expensive, sheesh.

Why do you need to learn Russian?

If commies invade Canada I'm blaming you.

Rosetta Stone is stupid and useless.

Just use Assimil, and Duolino and/or Anki for vocab.

(That said, however, surely with technology in this day and age you can get a tutor over Skype or whatever - doesn't have to be local)

Guess I don't have many options.

Hurghada in November/December hopefully (A lot of tourists there are Russian and apparently some places treat you better if you speak Russian instead of English) and then I want to tour Russia itself in a few years.

That would be a wicked time.

Tbh I'd love to learn a second language but I'm also lazy as fuck and half plenty of less constructive hobbies. Lol. My broken, toddler level French will have to suffice.

I mean, people here give me shit all the time for actually trying to discuss Russian politics instead of just being like "GRAJHHFAKJFDH PUTINS WORLD!" So maybe.

Plus I banged Tyga's Russian escort before she was an escort so there's that.

lol, sounds like your French is like my Finnish. I know how to say hello and order beer, but not much else ha ha.

And yeah I'm pretty stoked, Red Sea Riviera is god damn gorgeous.

You got it!

Pimsleur is supposedly pretty good too but not generally as well-loved.

$30 an hour for a private lesson is... not that much.

admittedly I don't know much about private instruction for languages, but for music $30 is definitely low on the price range. 40-75 is roughly the "usual" range

I mean, I don't know usual rates, but as I said, enough Spanish courses around here to sink the Bismarck and they're all fairly cheap.

Rosetta stone isn't bad as a memory retention aid, but it is typically overpriced and a supplement rather than its own course.

Yeah, I think a lot of people just remember their pitch back when they were the only well-known language program, where it was the best and made you fluent which is why it was so expensive. Now we have free apps that are as good or better.
