So many fucking people start off their videos with "Don't forget to drop a like" or some shit like that, but it makes me curious. Does doing that actually help them at all?

Yes, getting likes drives engagement and makes it more likely to appear in search results or reccomended video tabs

I'm talking people who ask for/beg for likes. Does that actually net them more likes? I find it annoying and unnecessary, because if I want to like a video I will. I don't need some clown to tell me that I should like their video.
