Actually that was the day I missed my off-ramp and had to go over a $15 toll bridge lol. Yeah NYC ugh.

Just a little fender bender. Coming around a curve and 2 cars in front of me decided to stop to turn, car in front of me slammed on their brakes and I had no chance. Got a pretty sweet rental car out of it.

As a passenger, 1. My dad was driving, we were stopped at a red light and the person behind us did not stop. Thankfully enough it was on a slow and busy street so they weren't going very fast and the only damage was minor scratches to the bumpers.

As a driver, 0. The closest would be when I was learning to drive I was at a cemetery at night to practice and when I was learning to back into a "parking spot" I hit the snowbank behind me.

Once I was driving a van and I was carrying a big sofa so I couldn't see behind me. Also the van was really old and so the side mirrors were impossible to adjust.

So anyway I'm at a stop sign and I squeak forward to see if I can cross but there's too many cars coming so I back up a bit.... and hit the car behind me.

I rear ended someone I was waiting behind in a parking lot, from right behind them and kinda hard but not actually fast. No damage to them, but I had their license plate branded on my bumper. They flicked me off and drove away.

I was looking at my phone to change a song. Never again.

2, none my fault

1, traffic was backed up a bit coming up to a light, I got into the turn lane to go left (I entered at the break in the line where you're supposed to). Cars in the two lanes going ahead had left a gap and someone pulled out of the burger king parking lot on that corner, crossed through the gap and stuck their front out into the turn lane just as I was coming through. Couldn't see it coming (and they couldn't see me) because of the cars in the lanes.

2, driving on the left lane going straight, person ahead of me decides to turn left by making a full and sudden stop in the travel lane instead of using the turn lane. I stop hard behind them but the person behind me clips my right corner trying to dodge to the right lane

As a passenger - I remember 1. Family's 1980 Honda Civic was rear-ended by a woman in a hurry, cops were called.

As a driver - 2. First one, I made a left turn (had the green turn arrow), somebody turning right on red going the opposite direction had to swing wide because he was towing a trailer behind his vehicle, hit my car on the passenger side, near the brake light. Almost had to go to court regarding that one because the one who hit me didn't have proof of insurance with him at the time.

Second one, I was driving home from work and the pavement was fairly wet. I followed a van too closely and they hit the brakes. I slammed on the brakes, skidded, and rear-ended them. Got a ticket for following too closely and had to rent a car from a local Enterprise for about a week while my car was repaired.

If we're counting as a passenger, my dad actually rear ended someone who was making a right turn. I was like five or six. I remember the guy started to pull out and then abruptly stopped and my dad was already looking for the cross traffic.

That lesson's stuck in my mind to this day :\

driving? technically 1, me and this girl backed into each other in a parking lot because we couldn't see. her car already had a big ass dent right where I hit it, lol. but I knew her and nothing happened to my car so we just left.

when I was a kid and we went to Maine one summer I was riding in the very back of a station wagon(it was the 90s) and we got rear ended at a red light. that was scary because I saw the car coming right at me

I was the passenger in a car that was lightly rear ended. One time, when Id just started driving, I missed a turn because I was blinded by headlights and scared because I had to turn across heavy traffic and the people behind me were lining up. Went into the ditch and bent my front bumper, but my insurance fixed it and got over the claim pretty quick.

3 iirc, none were my fault.

Once when I was a kid, the car slipped on some black ice and we went over a small bank into a tree. No injuries, just some damage to the car.

Next was the big one that almost killed me and my brother. I was 9 he was 12. Drunk driver fell asleep and swerved into our lane on the 4th of July. It was a full speed head on collision.

Next one I'm not sure really counts. We were on our way home late one night and suddenly a huge dog ran out in front of us. My mom swerved and we jumped a ditch and spun out in a corn field. It was certainly frightening, but there were no injuries or even damage to the car.

One while I was driving.

It's hard to say who was at fault. I stopped a bit too quickly at a yield sign, and the guy behind me bumped into me. It was so minor that we didn't even bother exchanging information or anything - just said "no harm, no foul," and went on our way, with no issues on either side.

jeez, still seems like a lot. im only 25, been driving since 14 (permit from 14 to 15, restricted 15 to 16, then fully from 16 to present) and i'm still at goose-egg

where do you live so i know never to drive since apparently its largest export is shitty drivers lmfao hahaha

When i was 17 i almost died in car crash. Was as passenger with one guy who had just gotten his licence. If the accident happened just little bit further we would had drowned in icy lake, or might had hit a tree.

Funny thing is that the guy, who i had known since like 5 year old, told that his mom thinks i did something that led to that crash. Our mothers were old friends too, and my mother told me that the guy who drove tried to make some bullshit up how it was my fault. I was fool to forgive him for that, because that same fucker got me drug user stigma later.

Only 1 but it was bad. I don't actually remember it but apparently someone stopped in front of me and I swerved to get out of the way hitting a truck head on. Woke up in the hospital with no memory in a neckbrace. Was found not to be at fault

Actually 4. I was in one when I was riding with someone but I forgot to count it. That one was the other car's fault.

At least twenty accidents, if you count fender benders and taps.

Dad rear-ended a guy trailing a boat on the interstate. Mom injured her shoulder, no one else was hurt.

Dad got t-boned driving to school. My dad and sister got cut up by shattered glass from the window, dad had a minor concussion and the guy who hit us had a heart attack which is what had caused the accident in the first place. iirc, if he hadn't hit us, he most likely would have slammed into a house.

I got t-boned driving home from a friend's. No one was hurt, but my car was totalled.

My sister somehow didn't notice a car while she was trying to make a left hand turn and t-boned him. No injuries, the other guy's car was pretty busted up. My sister was driving a tank of a jeep at the time.

My car got totalled by a guy speeding through the neighborhood while it was parked at a friend's. I wasn't actually in the car at the time, I just mentioned it because it was my car. My car slid across his yard and did like a 270 degree spin based off the way it was parked and the way it was facing. It also somehow missed four other cars parked there at the time (he had a semi-circle driveway).

My brakes failed and I slammed into a tree pulling out my driveway.

I rear-ended a guy who slammed on his brake when a light turned yellow (i initially thought he was going to go through). Fucked up his car pretty bad, he didn't leave in an ambulance, so I don't think he was hurt.

I fell asleep driving and rear-ended a semi. I wound up in the hospital in a coma for almost two weeks (I caught some sort of infection and they didn't have me on anything until my mom flew over and raised up a fuss. Broke my leg. Its still got the metal rod in it.

I got sandwiched between a car and a van because the guy didn't stop despite it being a red light with at least a half a dozen stopped cars in front of me. I was fine, my car was totalled.

I ran over a bucket that was lying in the middle of the road (the alternatives were swerve to the left and hit an oncoming car, or swerve to the right and hit a guard rail). It caused an oil leak, which I didn't notice until it was basically too late, and my engine died. Sold the car to a co-worker (he wanted to fix it up) and I got a new one. Not sure if that counts as an accident

Been in three low speed taps on the road during rush hour traffic, (one my fault, two where I was rear-ended) that had no damages.

I've been in several parking lot fender benders. Two of them had damages and basically happened because someone parked too close to me and I scrapped their car when trying to get out. Paid for one out of pocket, had insurance settle the other. One was with a friend driving. I don't remember the others very well, but they had no damages so we just went our own way.
