Somewhat...but like EvalAngell said, despite what look to be some pretty impending deaths for several characters, Marvel is known for being misleading in their trailers.

The only sad part of all this is you know that most of the characters are going to get the shaft as far as screen time goes. Even knowing this is across 2 films and probably over 5 hours of runtime when it's all said and done. There will still be a lot to be desired in seeing characters bump off one another.

But other than that. You know this is going to break the all time opening record. TFA is at 247 million. I say this easily goes 260+.

(personal rant) I hope I live to see the day that underserving Smurfs in space trash gets knocked out of the all time #1 for totals but I know that's an extremely tall order. I don't even care what knocks it out so long as it doesn't end up being one of it's sequels that does it.

This is probably it. I mean, yeah, they can make more movies and go on and on, but Robert Downey Jr. will probably be gone soon and so will Chris Evans. They'll need new actors. Movie creators will probably try to reboot the entire series from there.

I was really apprehensive about this aspect going into Civil War, but somehow the Russos managed to pull it off. Granted IW is, I dunno, double in scale in terms of heroes? Triple, maybe? But as you said, they've got two movies to fill.

anyway I like when Cap does an arm wrestle with Thanos. showed some cool stuff. somehow I almost prefer the first trailer though. it seemed more epic with the menacing approace of Thanos and his speech about doom.

Death is the opposite of the character Eternity

Somewhat spoiler-y. But Marvel has a history of misleading in their trailers. Even going so far as to CGI in or out certain plot elements (Thor's eye for example). I have a feeling that the close up of the gauntlet having only 2 stones is false.

I was just about to post exactly this. either all the shots we see of the glove are super early in the movie, or Thanos isn't going to get any wins, or the scenes are edited.

He doesn't actually have to snap his fingers he does it just for show to try and impress Death.

That looked pretty good but I'm still skeptical. It looks like so much to juggle.

Theyve got two movies to fit everything in and you know all these characters already. Its going to be about the conflict itself and seeing these characters reunite after a lot has transpired or meet for the first time. I think itll be fine personally. But I also liked Civil War a lot and other people didnt.

Steve Rogers and Tony Stark are too important. that would be like killing off Peter Parker and never using him again even if the MCU lasts 100 more years. in the comics they always come back. I think it's a mistake to throw away classic characters just cause the actor ends. I don't want to miss out on great Tony Stark stories just cause an actor retired. there are other people who can play him, especially in the future. someone not even born yet is probably just as good at being Tony or even better. it's dumb to end Tony Stark for all eternity

my big dream is actor changes for everyone like thye do with James Bond. I want the MCU to last forever and they have to do actor changes for that, otherwise they will run out of characters some day.

This is my thinking. I just figure theyll take actors that are established and still under contract and have them take up the mantle. Falcon or Bucky could both be the new Cap for instance.

And now that they have access to mutant characters they could roll out an Avengers configuration that doesnt look anything like what they currently have on screen.

I think Iron Man is in New York. it seems to be when Thanos first shows up. I think he steps down in NYC. then Spiderman attacks without thinking. Then Thanos is about to kill Spiderman. Then Iron Man steps in, then Thanos kills Iron Man.

They had an actor change for the Hulk and no one seemed to care.

Might be misremembering exactly where but it's very early on. Thanos does a few things to impress Death and they all fail so he goes "how about this!?"

It's so early in the book that only a tiny amount of people even know Thanos is back when it happens. Silver Surfer and Adam Warlock literally haven't even gathered people together at this point.

Edit: nevermind any of this fucking shit. I had the book right next to me and looked it up. It's fucking page 33 out of over 250 pages. Your definition of halfway through the book is the most fucked thing I ever heard in my life.

RDJ makes that role though, they aren't going to be recasting Iron Man.

I haven't read any Iron Man comics myself, but I have a friend who does and he once told me that RDJ made the role so iconic that they changed the comic version to be more like him.
