What do you think it will mean for the greater Avengers arc though?

I thought Thanos was "courting" the goddess of death so isn't that hela thor's sister? If they kill her who is he collecting the gemstones for now? And she didn't even feel the infinity stone (the tesseract) was that great but said that fire is stronger? Just a fire that lasts forever? Okay that is impressive, but not alter time and space impressive which the infinity stones do so... ?

No he does it for the entity Death, there's a lot of god/goddesses of death.

Ohhh that makes sense. I wonder if they'll do that for the movies.

Anyway my thoughts on the movie. That was really amazing. From the very beginning it was engaging, and while the natalie portman dumping happened off screen, I am a bit upset that they wasted our time with her for 2 movies when they were just going to break them up. But it's no biggie. I liked seeing the Dr Strange cameo, and I'm honestly not bothered by the timeline of events that the MCU seems to have with all the superhero movies coming out, so not too bothered by Odin seemingly gone for the past 4 years with no heads up, or how exactly Hulk ended up on a planet millions of lightyears away with only a fighter jet.

The movie is just fun. I enjoyed seeing all the characters, though Hela was not as evil or didn't really do anything big yet. She was chilling at Asgard. I thought she was gonna be the Ragnarok of the place, bringing the end to Asgard (I could have sworn there was a trailer where she said "Asgard will fall" or something like that)

There's not enough praise I could give to the movie, like the humor and thor-hulk fight and the haircut scene and everything, everything, so I'll just ask a question:

Where was Sif? Sif and the warriors 3? Hela killed two of the warriors, the gimli dwarf knockoff and Chuck, maybe the asian if they replaced the actor, but I definitely did not see Sif. I guess she was like Hawkeye in winter soldier, distinctly and strangely absent for an important cataclysmic event that directly affects them.

I was hyped as fuck for this movie, I knew it wouldn't disappoint... and it didn't. It was a blast. So excited for this year's movies.

Hogun died in battle with Hela.

Sif was no where to be found. The actress had schedule conflicts since shes one of the main stars on Blindspot.

Natalie Portman has no interest in being in any more Marvel movies, so her being dumped off-screen was the best the writers could do.

I don't even dislike the previous Thor movies like most did, but I do admit that I wish Thor 2 was more like this movie, but eh you can't change the past. I was fine with Thor 1 being on earth just to do the typical hero learns a lesson and grows trope. But 2 while okay could have been more like 3. OH well.

So, you brought up a point that bothered me quite a bit in the movie. Just HOW did Hulk end up on Sakaar in a fucking Quin Jet?

That bothered the shit out of me. Are those even capable of space travel?

I assume a wormhole sent him there so the question is how far was he able to fly outside in space before encountering one that sent him to the planet, or if he went on an entire journey. I assumed they were going to adapt the planet hulk or world war to hulk storyline from the comics where he apparently goes from planet to planet kicking ass and taking names, and also possibly bedding space amazonesses. But he's kind of just... conveniently there on the same planet thor is. Also convenient that Loki was there too.

But hey, it's no big deal at all. The only thing that I'm ever truly skeptical of is how all aliens and alien planets are almost exactly like earth, and the people are all humanoids with different colored skin, which is just... uninspired design for what life may evolve to look like in different galaxies. And even that doesn't bother me, but just something I always think about when they introduce scifi stuff.

It's funny that Surter and Hela were fighting each other at the end, god of fire and goddess of death. I was suddenly reminded of those stupid hobbit movies and when smaug the dragon-like creature flies and says "I am fire. I am death." (so like, he's two in one)

Been checking reddit topics and apparently that spaceship at the end is Thanos? So Thor and co are royally screwed. Would have been nice to see Thanos square off against Hela, two titans locked in battle...
