35 y/o Santo Hilario Garcia and 33 y/o Marcelina Garcia Profecto were undocumented immigrants who were KILLED in a horrifying car crash as they were trying to escape ICE AGENTS in California!!

They leave behind SIX children ranging fro 8 to 18 as officeres responded to the crash scene at 3000 Block of West Cevil Avenue before 7am as authorities found the SUV upside down on its roof with the couple still inside

It was travelling at a high rate of speed when the driver drove into the dirt shoulder and lost control. It hit a power pole before coming to a stop as the couple were pronounced dead at the scene

ICE ageents had arrived at their home because they got a TIP that they were mexican citizens and were illegals.

The man matching the description they were looking for then ran from the home and drove away as agents attempted to arrest him and attempted to stop him by using emergency lights

Family and friends gathered at the crash ste leaving their 6 kids devastated and now without parents..

Arturo Rodriguez, president of the United Farm Workers said they left their home Tuesday morning searching for work. He said when they learned they were ice agents, they became very scared and took off. He also says they were hard working, law abiding folks who came to the US to work and hoped for a better future for their children.

They didn't commit any crimes other than coming here undocumented and have been there for 15 years as farmworkers.

The 6 children's future is uncertain as the oldest is an 18 y/o girl as she doesn't know what's going to happen to her or her siblings and is trying to figure it out..

This comes as DACA is about to expire and the Trump administration promises not to "round up illegal immigrants"

I chose no, because I don't want them too kill people. Not saying in this incident that it was their fault because it absolutely wasn't, but I would rather people not die when they go to round up illegals. But yeah, I don't understand why people defend illegals living here. They are illegal.......it doesn't matter how long they lived here and yeah I know some but still....if they get kicked out that's on them. Now that said, I don't want any of then to be killed. Definitely not a death sentence.

Looks like it isn't a very ice situation for the kids to be in, I hope they don't get the cold shoulder in making it through such a hardship, with any luck their family will break the ice.

They chose to flee in a car driving at a dangerous speed. They were endangering other motorists on the roadway as well.

They should have at least ran in different cars. My parents once took different flights in case one crashed.

If your policy is not to chase when somebody runs, everybody runs and nobody is caught. However, this case would require going a step further than that --- specifically not investigating --- since the officers didn't even pursue. All they did was get out of their vehicle to ask the couple some questions and the couple sped off.

Like others said, shouldn't have sped away recklessly like that, they endangered other people, too.

I'd rather see the people employing illegals get sent to prison than to see ICE target the illegals themselves. While you'll never dis-incentivize all the employers, if you got a huge swath of them to stop hiring illegals out of fear of going to jail, the demand for the labor would dry up and they'd leave / stop coming.
Go after the root of the problem.

I was shocked, popped out six kids and she was only 33. But the eldest kid is 18, so she started really early....

illegals cause accidents and then don't pay a dime for it

If it was white people child welfare abusers I would be saying/feeling the same things except at least it would be our issue as a nation instead of some other person making themselves a burden after being accepted in.

6 kids. They were poor too.

No way they werent abusing the system and stealing from tax payers with their poor choices in some way.

It sucks for the kids but they will probably not internalize their suffering as bad choices from their parents, so idk how sorry I feel for them. We will have to see how they adjust to reality or they copy their parents unsustainable lifestyle themselves.

Yes immigrants have negatively impacted where I live over the years and all the licals agree and can point out the problems.

My bad, when I said not their fault. I meant the Ice agent's. Yes they should absolutely chase them and do their jobs. I was simply saying I would like no fatalities. Since the question was "do you want them to round up illegals this way" which I took as kill them, since the couple died. Which is what my comment was aimed at.

They were also here for 15 years. Couldn't they have gone through the process of citizenship sometime during that time lol got a green card at least. Like I get that people are trying to find a better way to live, and I am happy that people consider my country a salvation. But at some point in time, you have to become legal.

You clearly have never looked into this.

And this is why it's typically illegal for law enforcement to engage in chases, especially for people who aren't a threat.

The agents should face responsibility for initiating an unnecessary chase.

It needs to be both, just like you can't only target johns you also need to arrest hookers (and vice versa; although technically I feel that should be legal anyway so the industry, which isn't going away, can be safely regulated)

But yes, I've lived in a number of areas with high rates of illegal and legal immigration, including NY and FL.

@BlackScythe0 And this is why it should be typical for you to actually read the material or at least the posts, considering they DIDN'T initiate a chase. The couple fled when they were approached.

I feel like it should just be tacked on to other crimes, come here illegally but don't commit other crimes? Just look the other way. Come here illegally and commit a bunch of other crimes? Make sure they get punished then deported

it wasn't a chase. the couple panicked and just bolted down the road and then crashed. the agents hadn't arrived at their house when they left. and they didn't find the couple til after the crash. the couple never even saw the agents
