stuff stinks because of bacteria, including your armpits. Now you obviously cannot freeze your armpits, but you can freeze jeans and it kills the bacteria. Take the jeans out and spray them with some febreze or something and they'll smell like they're fresh out of a wash without having to actually wash them.

edit: well it won't get rid of stains, but if you don't have any stains, you don't have to wash the jeans.

You know why your jeans smell fresh? Because you sprayed them with Febreze. Skip the freezing step. It's literally useless. Don't be dense.

The one who did actual research.

As the article stated, there's no difference in the bacterial accumulation between a pair of jeans that hadn't been washed for 13 days and a pair that hadn't been washed for 15 months. Which means that even if you kill the bacteria off, it will be right back to where it was in a matter of a few days and it will stay there at a sort of equilibrium. The bacteria do not continue to accumulate and multiply forever.

What is actually causing your jeans to smell is the accumulation of sloughed off dead skin cells and dirt, which freezing does nothing for. Stop being disgusting slobs and wash your fucking clothes.

So youd be happy to wash expensive denim jacket or a leather jacket once a week even though they dont stink or have stains?

Jackets aren't the same situation as jeans or shirts because there is far less contact with the skin, so there is far less buildup of dead cells and such. But yeah, it's generally a good idea to wash your jacket at least once a month.

Jeans typically get eased after 7 days of use, but it really varies based on what work I've been doing. All the clothes I wear when doing mortuary work get washed no matter what, even if they came off the line the day before.

Triclozan & VG80 are NOT pleasant smells and they get stuck in your clothes real bad.

This is what I wanna know. Pants don't really need to be washed more than once a month or two unless you're just naturally a filthy, greasy person. For most normal people, legs are pretty sterile and generally never sweat.

Like, maybe if you're a fucking slob or a smoker you should wash them a lot, but average person should have no reason to wash fucking pants that often.
