Current Events > for some reason my PC now takes ages to boot up

it started this Monday. never had any issues with it before then.

it now takes roulghly 1-2 minutes from the point when i press the power button, to when it actually starts booting up. up until then, it's just a black screen.

what do i do?

Hardware gets old and won't start up the same anymore. Nothing you can do about it.

i don't think so.

at least, i can't see how it could possibly get overheated before even starting up, and then have no issues at all once it gets going

i would recommend using pc tools

they have a start up analyzer that will show you whats affecting the startup and what programs are taking up the most resources on startup.

Possibly hard drive about to give out. Id be sure anything important is backed up
