even though the game was a delayed a month I guess the embargo is still the old release date?

84 average so far (compared to 86 for Yakuza 0 and 82 for Kiwami) so right in the same ballpark.

Much like the other games reviewers love the combat and the storytelling, but not all of them were crazy about the side content or lack thereof in comparison to earlier games.

The one dude at Playstation Universe was apparently super into it though

Guess I should order this game on Amazon.

I'm nervous, this game looks to have the minigames I love, it promotes NJPW which I adore and Takeshi Kitano whose movies I enjoy.

It seems like the perfect Yakuza game for me, but I keep hearing rumblings that it's not as good as 4/5/0.

0 seems like the starting point for newcomers from this point on.

What's always been an issue with Yakuza games is how you need to at the bare minimum watch the cutscenes from previous games to fully get the story.

Quite a few games contain scenes from the previous entries which helps, but at a glance, 6 requires knowledge of the main beats from Kiwami/5.

But if you're gonna play 0, might as well play Kiwami and Kiwami 2.

3 and 4 are the least essential games to play right now, but 4 is when they nailed down the formula that would work best for future games in the series from a gameplay standpoint.

I don't think I agree with Y0 being the new starting point when it's easily the best one. (And one of the best games ever made tbh)

Going back to the ps2 and playing up from the beginning is a super tall order but this series is an incredibly unique experience and I'll probably never recommend it any other way.

I would love for people to go in release order, the lore is great and the locations play such a prominent role.

There's loads of nice callbacks and small details you get from playing all the games. But the first two games are just so hard to get into now when you have remakes of them around.

Gimme dat baseball management game though.
