I am actually kindof anti gun. no I am not bitter. Im mostly on the same side as these kids. you didn't get it at all. I'm not yelling at the kids. I'm just saying they aren't powerful. they got chosen. that is it. these kids only did what they did cause they were chosen. they would be powerless without the backing of CNN and anti gun lobbyists

And it's not about those specific skills. It's about life experience. Kids are dumb.

But then when the media covers it, it lends this imaginary credibility to what they're doing, and influences people to think "wow, look at this powerful message were are being sent by these brave children"

This kid was talking about how they want gun control and not to get rid of guns. He was standing in front of a sign that said "Its time to destroy all the guns on earth"

They're being amended

Because they're Amendments

They are capable of being changed. It just takes a change to the constitution, not regular laws from congress.

Furthermore the constitution doesn't grant rights. The rights are inherent. The bill of rights takes rights that are of the upmost importance and says under no circumstance shall the government infringe on these things.

Canada has a freedom rating aggregate score of 99/100. The US has a freedom rating aggregate score of 89/100.

We objectively have more freedom than you. For instance, we don't get molested while trying to board a plane. We don't get regularly killed by our police officers.

But of course, guns are the one thing that matters to you.

All of this intense media focus on school shootings is basically guaranteeing that we will have many school shootings in the future, especially all the drills and shit they are doing in schools now apparently.

They are glorifying the idea of school shootings. They are making it something that people think about all the time.

We did a walkout during my senior year of high school to protest Bush and the war... Kids holding up signs saying no blood for oil...

We'd get beeped and yelled at by drivers calling us anti-American, and me and my friends would be like hey, we're for the war, it's just an excuse to get out of classes!

Well yes bullying isnt OK but it seems like there is like 90% participation. I'm sure not all these kids are bullies. A bigger issue is kids not fighting back, not slugging a bully, not making friends, not learning to socialize and then going home and crying and masturbating to revenge plots.

If you're a parent or a teacher it's ok to tell kids to fight back or to quit being weird or that they're not perfect.

If a kid is spending his whole lunch hour playing with bugs and covering themselves in dirt it's absolutely appropriate to tell them to stop doing that and go talk to someone.

It's part of the job to nurture a child's interests. Another part is teaching them to be a functional member of society.

I know. I think they should. If kids still slugged it out and fought back against bullies I think there'd be less shootings. Not good to keep it all internalized.

That said a lot of these kids I don't even think are properly bullied. They just don't fit in and feel ostracized. Learning to socialize should be a part of it to.

I forget when but I do know at somepoint they made a huge deal about anti bullying BUT a key part of it was do not get into a physical fight. They were telling these kids not to fight back just tell an adult or to use other means to oppose bullies.

That is the problem though, violence is needed against bullies, you need to show your not their punching bag and knock them the fuck out. Problem usually is that it is often a group of bullies not just one.

Very few bullies have that one vs one fight, its one kid vs a bunch of bullies which is why a fist fight no longer really works.

I agree but this is what teachers and the media are telling kids: dont fight your bully but do oppose being bullied.

That is the pussified message the anti bullying groups are sending and telling kids, sorry but that is part of the problem.

I never said to not have them socialize. but it's not ok to defend bullies. maybe the kid wants friends but every single person in the school picks on him. and he cries at home about it. and you are saying "suck it up and socialize. quit watching anime, you freak. be normal"
