It's been over 5 days since I ordered. Delivery due Friday. I'm sure it will get here on time but they have got to be intentionally waiting till the last minute. No way it should take nearly 6 days and counting to ship.

In my experience and the experience of others, they're not even meeting their ETAs anymore a lot of the time. With or without Prime. The last thing I ordered was just straight up MIA. Ordered two day, they shipped way late and the date was changed to "Was expected on.." But there was never any indication that the item was actually picked up or dropped off by anyone. You also seem to have to jump through an annoying amount of hoops to contact them now, I don't remember it being like that before.

Is everything that starts out great just destined to become shitty once they eliminate the competition?
I used to always shop by the "Fulfilled by Amazon" but now I'd almost rather go third party with high feedback or use another website entirely.

It just it seems weird to cut it so close when you're the massive machine that is Amazon. Seems like dropping a small box of movies into their circulatory infrastructure and getting the deal done wouldn't take 6 days. But again I'm literally ignorant on this.

Eh.. no real need to be nervous. What I can still say about Amazon is that they are pretty good at sending out replacement items or giving refunds without hassle. I just don't consider them the "lightspeed, no nonsense" company anymore. A lot of people are basically stuck being frustrated now while a lot of their stuff is in limbo and Amazon keeps bumping the ETA. Sucks when you sort of need something ASAP and it happens.

That would be another problem then. I live in a small area as well and even with Prime packages sometimes take a bit to get here. Yet my brother who only lives about 50 miles from a DC gets his packages fast without Prime.

It certainly wouldn't take long at all. Which is why it's not a big priority until it HAS to go.

For example, a theme park. Prime and other two day or overnight shipping would be the fast pass, you're just waiting in the long ass line.

Same experience here, which is why I cancelled my Prime membership after 6 months and demanded a prorated refund. Too many packages were not showing up on time. I joined Prime for the free 2-day shipping, and not getting it a lot of the time defeated the purpose.

That's normal. I let my Prime membership expire and I've been dealing with the same thing as you. Often they won't ship out the order (usually just blu-rays) until one or two days before to make it to the delivery day. Last week, I had an order scheduled to arrive between Friday and Sunday. It didn't ship out until Saturday morning and it was delivered early Sunday morning, the last day of the delivery estimate.

The only explanation I can think of as to why Amazon waits until literally the last minute to ship out packages overnight (or close to it) is to urge you to sign up for Prime.

Support the creators. Some Animation really loses their quality through streaming even if it's na official site. Also it's nice being able to enjoy media without relying on Internet connection or HDD space.

If you're trusting their tracking service, don't. I recently had a monitor that had to get here from them and for the longest time it was in "pre-shipping" status then one day I suddenly saw a bunch of scans and a fake "we tried to deliver it but no one was there" notice.

USPS is shit. Keep an eye on anything if you got a tracking number though because they may hit you with that out of nowhere like they did me. I had to end up going to the office to get my monitor because the lazy pricks didn't even try to deliver it to my house.

He's actually right. Why not frustrate you as a non-prime member by taking their time shipping to someone not registered to their service? I have prime and I haven't gotten a late package in years, always 2 days.

You should just contact them to make sure. They're very good about making sure that things arrive on time. A lot of times the ETA after I place an order changed from when I originally placed it, so I contact their help center to confirm that it'll make in time. They're really nice, because instead of just getting doing the minimum to meet the ETA, they'll upgrade it to overnight at no extra charge. Sometimes they give me a $5 credit.

Yeah, you should have gotten a tracking number though at least. If not then it may not have shipped yet for real.

My point is that with the USPS it's very hard to know the actual status of your stuff until it's there.

usps is very reliable now imo. it's UPS i don't have favorable odd's. though the last time they took an extra few days to get an item to me (think it was an orange pullover and lego dimensions). at first it went through california and then shipped to oregon. went right back to california (where that hold-up began).

all my other things (the simpsons level and skylander level pack) arrived way before the required item.

You have to know when you're buying from Amazon and when you're buying from a third-party seller

Amazon's wares come from their warehouses and so shipping them out is on them

If it's a third-party you're buying from, Amazon has little control over how it gets shipped to you.
