Um, talk to a doctor. There are many different kinds of drugs btw, different doses or types could help. But there are other things that might help too.

I mean you're right but in my experiences the drugs they prescribe just take away all feeling, you don't want to live or die. It's scary.

Exercise. Start small if you have to. Do a few pushups and see if you're feeling up to more from there.

People saying exercise

Oh, that's rich

Barring a new brain that properly produces dopamine, I guess you could help things by having a healthy support group or social circle that actually validates your feelings even when you're feeling down, and maybe a therapist if you can afford it

If your depression isn't the result of your brain physically not functioning properly, going for a good run might help. Running is nice because if you do it hard enough any time afterwards when you're not running no longer seems as bad because you aren't currently running :P

Yeah running in the morning really makes a difference thats day and night for me. I feel more confident, energized, and spend less time in my head and more time focusing on what needs to be done for today. Its not just me; friends, professors, coworkers, and the regulars at work pick up on it too. Wow, youre awfully excited for that. Wow thats really optimistic coming out of you. Youre not looking so hot today.

This is so true. Also being sore the next day is like a constant reminder that you did something productive, which should make you feel good about yourself.

I don't know. They tried several different ones with me but they all made me feel suicidal. Some people just don't mix with those drugs.

I mean, there is no fixing. Depression is not curable. You can just treat it with things to make it less hurtful, but its always gonna be there.

I had depression for 14 years and I never took medication. People say exercise and lift weights but I get exhausted way too fast because of my heart condition. I just deal with it. Playing guitar and videogames help a little bit though, for me. Hanging out with friends also helps.

You have to have a certain level of optimism to keep friends when depressed cause otherwise you'll just exhaust people. That's really important. No one wants to be around someone that drags down every idea or thought.
