In the future you don't know what would happen. Maybe a giant space ship like Spaceballs could suck out all the poison air and blow it like to...Pluto.

Unless Jupiter has a stable sold core, it's probably more effective to start from scratch than vacuum all the death vapor

Isaac Arthur has discussed this.

He favors a partial orbital ring with living spaces and several space elevators that descend into Jupiter's upper atmosphere.

While I don't think inhabiting Jupiter will ever be feasible, I do think humanity will have to leave Earth eventually if we ever want to survive.

oh yeah to where? mars? venus?

the moon? totally more inhabitable than the earth

Nah, Pluto will be a prison planet.

Actually, one suggestion was that Pluto might be used to run massive computers that service the outer solar system colonies. The temperature is extremely cold, so if you want to run complex computer simulations, you could. This is especially true if you want to run human minds in a simulation. It would be a way of preserving people's personalities after they die.

Venus, or one of the planet sized moons would be ideal. Venus, simply because of the earth-like gravity, though you'd have do to something about the atmosphere. Currently, it's the hottest terrestrial planet in the solar system.

Many people mistakenly think Mercury is the hottest, due to it's proximity to our local star, but that isn't the case. The atmospher of Venus is so thick that it traps most of the solar energy that reaches it. This, coupled with just how heavy the atmospher is effectively turns Venus into a pressure cooker. If you were suddenly teleported to Venus, you'd probably be killed by the pressure before the 800+ degrees temperature killed you. You'd simply be crushed to death, while burning up.

Wouldn't it's orbit take it farther way from said colonies than Earth is for centuries at a time?

The idea is to build colonies on the moons of the larger gas and ice giants. The colonies on the outer solar system would be independent from Earth. Pluto would be mainly servicing the outer solar system planetary colonies, so it should only take a 6 minute lag.

You could build a huge multiprocessor computer on Pluto and not worry about heat since Pluto would rarely warm any higher than -223C (-359 F). You could also store a crap ton of information as well.
