So, apparently I have to buy a NEW 3ds if I want to play xenoblade. Seriously.

If I pay for a new Nintendo system, it sure as hell isnt going to be a system I already have and its not going to be for one game.

Hyrule Warriors doesn't require it but it's a much better experience with one.

If you have a Wii or Wii U, I strongly recommend just getting the original version. The framerate's better, and it's a game you really should experience on a big screen; I can't imagine how much different discovering a scenic place like Distant Fingertip would've felt on a handheld screen.

Unfortunately, I no longer have my original Wii. I never got the Wii U because I was disappointed by the original Wiis game library, so I was too cautious.

What really sucks is that I want to get a switch sometime soon and xenoblade 2 is on my list of things to play. If I bought a switch, could I download the original game from the Nintendo Shop?

I might also add the N3DS version makes a lot of sacrifices. The Wii Version is the penultimate one

Reality : We can make a few million people buy another 3DS model if we make a few games only work for it.

I mean, why the fuck else do you need the N3DS to download Earthbound and play it? It sure as fuck isn't because the regular 3DS couldn't handle it.

There are literally people on this site who have 5+ working 3dss. People will shell out another $100 for the pikachu or Metroid edition.

PlayStation doesnt try this bullshit. Neither does Xbox. You can download a free update to keep your system running and its inexcusable that Nintendo did this. Might not even buy a switch. How long before the new switch that actually plays the popular games is released?

Yeah, I read on a homebrew forum that people had serious problems trying to get SNES roms to even work with the og 3ds hardware so I think there's some justification for locking SNES VC games to N3DS.

Tbh though, it's not super necessary to play Xenoblade 1 before 2. Maybe at some point Nintendo will get their heads out their asses and bring back VC on the Switch. Or do an HD remaster of Xenoblade 1.

I don't know what gives you the idea that VC isn't coming back on the Switch. Its already been confirmed.

Most likely won't have Wii or GC games tho.

Extremely, extremely japanese game. If you're still into it cool, but I've reached the point where I can't be bothered to put in dozens of hours of exposition dialogue and a story based upon a teenagers level of trust and friendship with his crew, not again.
