I know IT pretty well from just hobbyist use. That's how. ;) Most of the job is simple computer fixes (which I've been doing on my own computers for years) or web design / alterations (which while I'm no expert on, I know more than enough from my own spare time activities to do the kind of stuff I need to be able to do). That, and I have a talent for learning the more complicated stuff (eg. commercial wifi installations) pretty quickly.

Modern day licensure also makes it so that if I wanted to work in any other capacity in medicine, I would have to go back to school for four years to take classes covering everything I already know

You see, an extensive understanding of physiology and pathology, self motivated education, and experience doesnt count for anything unless you show that you were in the appropriate school for it.

i mean without the certs i feel like the issue is your insurance cost would be so high to an employer your labor would not be worth the cost to retain you

legal costs built in to healthcare create a lot of the burden on providers
