It was essentially the "it was all a dream" ending but even worse and more convoluted. There were problems with the story before (coming to the conclusion that "magic can't be real" when both the protagonists have partners with magical powers and one of those powers is integral to the plot), but the ending straight ruined the game. --- The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him.
