However nobody brings their dog babysitting with them so that means the baby is coming to you and the dog is with you the entire time.

My neighbour did, I have a distinct memory of her Yorkshire terrier stepping on my crotch.

The dog is not going to pass out from smoke before you do if you are both together. in short, any scenario that involves you and the dog being together makes no sense

So my posts wasted everyone's time?

I'm sorry, to everyone for wasting your time.

That doesnt make sense.

2 points for trying

It makes perfect sense, because they chose the dog over the toddler.

(The most likely scenario for this hypothetical incident to happen would probably involve babysitting.)

Why would anyone bring their own dog when they're going babysitting

You're so emotionally wound up by people who disagree with you that you put 0 thought into that post

I used real life experiences to come up with that post.

I'm not really known to get emotional over fictional things.

I don't particularly care if people disagree with me, it doesn't effect my life.

I should also point out that I'm not that good at punctuation, or explaining things.

Toddler. Obviously. Dogs are easy to replace.

I suspect the people that look at their dogs as their family or "baby" are people who aren't going to procreate much themselves.

I used to have a weird emotional attachment like that to a dog we had. Then we actually had our own daughter and I realized how bizarre it is to treat a pet like a sort of furry surrogate child.

I love the armchair psychology here. Its not a weird emotional attachment. Trying to shame people who love their dog is ridiculous.

Saving your own toddler is a very different story. Saving someone elses toddler over my dog? If I have to stick to the absurd circumstances that there is no way possible to save both then Im saving my dog every time.

This is just pathetic, lol. I used to think you were a reasonable poster, and now you're saying dumb shit like "people who look at their dogs as their family or baby aren't going to breed". When the vast majority of people have emotional attachment to their pets. On top of the dumb shit you were saying in the 'men aren't masculine enough' topic. "Anyone who talks to your SO is a potential threat"

You're insecure as all hell and projecting those insecurities big time. See a professional and get that shit sorted out asap.

/eyeroll

Okay. Let me set deliberate shitposting aside. Fine, let's real talk.

Yes, people get emotionally attach to their pets. I understand that and, okay, I don't actually think that necessarily means those people will never breed. Even if the image of the weirdos who live with a bunch of pets and have no kids of their own is an actual thing (for example, my wife's aunt is a total, stereotypical crazy cat lady).

If you want my honest opinion about people who get really overly emotionally attached to their pets, I do think it's weird. They're pets, not small, furry children. And that's as someone who did used to get emotionally attached to pets, until we started having our own kids. Then my outlook and priorities changed and I started treating the dog like a dog instead of a substitute for a child. I don't look at pets as members of the family anymore.

I do think people that would let another human being, especially an innocent child, burn to death over a dog may have some weird disconnect from humanity. It legitimately boggles my mind that someone would choose to save a dog over a baby. I say that as someone who's lost pets and lost an unborn baby, even though our baby hadn't been carried fully to term when we lost it, the pain of losing any pet, regardless of emotional attachment, doesn't begin to compare to the loss of a child. I guess it doesn't compute for me that there would be so many people who would be so callous as to inflict that trauma on other people to selfishly save a pet. Maybe I just don't get it that well.

As for the other topic, I do think I specified the emphasis was on the word "potential". Not every guy who talks to your girl is a threat, but they could be. Women get unwanted attention and approaches from dudes all the time. I think they have some big deal social activist movement going on about it lately. I don't think recognizing that men trying to chat up your wife or girlfriend are a potential threat to your relationship is unrealistic. Not when adultery happens all the time. Now that doesn't mean you need to go apeshit over everything, but I think it's wise to keep your eyes open to the possibility that the guy who's texting, calling, or otherwise trying to talk with your lady so much is probably trying to bang her.

Is that a little more of a reasonable approach for you?

Joke answer? These hoes ain't loyal.

Real answer?

Last I checked the numbers, about 1 in 5 men and 1 in 7 women admit to cheating on their significant other (and some suggest women under report their sexual habits). And apparently about 1 in 3 marriages suffer from at least one spouse having an extramarital affair.

Everyone wants to believe that their spouse isn't one of those adulterers, but I think to assume they will be 100% loyal in every tempting scenario is a little naive and irresponsible with those odds. I'm not saying assume they are going to cheat, but be prepared for the possibility and keep an eye out for suspicious events.

What are you getting at?

Regardless, I think we're getting off topic.
