I used to get cheap insurance from my job, and still got a decent tax return.
Now? My insurance is MORE expensive, and that's with the ACA chipping in to lower the premium - Which then gives me a penalty on my taxes. So I can pay more than I'm paying per month, which is already more than it used to be, or I can get less back from my taxes. Thanks Obama! Now feel free to fill this topic with anecdotal evidence about how the ACA helped 90 million other people and I'm one of the .01% of the US population who got fucked over by it. ... What penalty? Basically they only cover a certain amount based on your income - For example let's say they want to cover 2k but I use 3k, I lose 1k. Of course you can totally avoid this by using less, but that means a higher insurance payment each month. My insurance is already higher than it's ever been, so either way I'm losing money.
