I watched the Man Show every now and again but I think it was only for the titillation factor. I don't think I ever actually *liked* it.

Also people outing Kimmel for being emotional may forget the episode of the Man Show where he teared up on camera after Fox (the guy who sang the bawdy songs and chugged beer real quick) passed away and they had a tribute to him.

As for Kimmel nowadays, I'm not going to call him the darling of the left or anything, but he can say whatever he wants and he's got a show to do it from.

Quite frankly I don't watch any network late-night shows. It's all the same format and it all just seems too tame and not really my preferred style of humor.

Take Colbert. I love him and I love his work and I loved the Colbert Report, but I can't get into the new Late Show outside of small doses, because he was subsumed into the "late-night" traditional format: Monologue, sketch, actor/celebrity, musical act. Boring and far too safe for my tastes.

The only "late-night" show I even watch (if you can call it a proper late-night show) is John Oliver. He goes deep into subjects he covers and it's really interesting.

Late night television has turned into a damn soapbox of bullshit. Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel cry and whine way too much and spend most of their time on one subject "trump" for far too long. What happened to jokes that cover a broad spectrum and not just politics?

Colbert ruined Dave's show for sure

Oh that's easy, actually.

It's because politics is the big joke now. In fact it's never been a bigger joke.

And Dave had plenty of jokes for Bill Clinton and W. Why? Because they brought the jokes to them through their scandals and slip-ups and what have you. The current President is a veritable *font* of jokes to be made at his expense. It's easy mode.

Well, I guess that depends on what your criteria for "most sexist show in history" would be.

I'm sure plenty of shows were far worse behind the scenes. The Man Show was very forthcoming about its premise, and in that way, it could be considered more honest than others in history about its sexism.

The Man Show was great, and it was from a period before embracing gender was seen as offensive (i.e. Gen X).

It would probably do quite well today as a rebellion against how sissified and feminized millennial men are. There isn't enough quality entertainment for traditionally masculine guys anymore.

As a concept, gender is pretty boring, primitive and at best mundane, so I'm rolling my eyes at this post. The Man Show was hilarious though and I enjoyed even when Joe Rogan and Doug Stanhope took over. They weren't nearly as good of course, but the show was still enjoyable. Andy milonakis was pretty funny on it too. I didn't know who he was at the time so I thought they had a legit 10 year old doing and saying all that shit, trying to get people to buy him booze and condoms lol

This is such a disingenuously stupid point that I'm shocked you'd still peddle it. Comparing a first term president with a second term president and attempting to line up the years is a horrible comparison and is such a misuse of data.

Not to mention, it's not even true:

Trumps approval rating after 411 days in office. Average score on RCP: 40.2

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_trump_job_approval-6179.html

3/7/2014 would be 411 days after Obama's 2nd inauguration. Average score on RCP: 42.9

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_obama_job_approval-1044.html

And according to that site, Obama dipped below Trump's approval rating all of ONE time from where he is presently sitting. So stop spreading this bullshit please.

Nah, it's only bullshit if you rely on the same polls that predicted a landslide victory for Hillary. Those ones with a -21 point spread are a fucking joke.

Trump passed Obama last week in the Rasmussen poll, which was the most accurate predictor of the popular vote in the general election. If this triggers you, that's your problem. It's not spreading bullshit just because it doesn't confirm to your desired narrative.

Read for yourself.
