I've heard that it is, not sure, compared to say, 5 years ago. If you hadn't noticed on the front page of this site is does say how many people are currently using it and i don't think it ever gets above 3000

I don't think so. It's the third most viewed video game website behind twitch.tv and PlayStation.com (higher than ign or Gamespot). It has around 200 million viewers a month with a positive trend, but it's difficult to say exactly the viewership now since they recently changed domains. It looks like most views come directly from search engines, with users only spending a few minutes on the site (most don't go to the main page, clearly indicated by the reduced number using the daily polls).

There's no forums for Facebook, for one thing. Have you looked at the total number of votes in the poll? I haven't, but I bet you could track usage like that too.
