Vandalism is considered comprehensive coverage. A hit and run is usually collision. Do you have UIM coverage? You could always use that.

Ouch. $1000 is a pretty high deductible. You accepted a larger portion of the risk associated with owning a car in exchange for a cheaper auto insurance premium. Hopefully, you have at least saved enough on your premium as a result of the high deductible to justify this shared risk.

I get it. Hit and Runs suck. A good insurance company can definitely soften the blow. I had to use my own comprehensive policy when some jerk messed up one of the body panels on my car. I was out $250, my deductible, and got the car sent to a repair specialist who was certified by my auto manufacturer. I was told that if it wasnt blended to my satisfaction, they would ship a new panel from Germany to fix it. I was without my car for a few days, but it looked just as good as new when I got it back.

Good luck and hopefully you have a speedy resolution.

Yea I just called them,

It wouldve fallen under collision where my deductible is $500 if I knew who hit my car but if that were the case I wouldnt even be in this mess lol

Anyway I didnt expect this to happen to me, and I dont plan on adjusting deductibles in the future either; probably just going to move to a more responsible area that isnt the city

Happened to me last Feb., but I had comprehensive so I didn't have to deal with it.

It's a load of horse shit. Scumbags not taking responsibility and insurance companies fucking you over.
