If so, do you do cash or through the app?

Not looking to make this a tipping debate topic, just genuinely curious about how others tip uber. I always tip from my app after the ride, but I always feel weird leaving the car without giving them a cash tip. What do you guys do?

I tip my Uber rides regularly ($1 to $5 depending on the service and length of ride). The method of tipping is simple: if I have single bills, I would tip in cash; otherwise, I tip via the app.

Only time I do not tip is if the ride was unenjoyable for me; e.g. loud music blaring, aggressive driving/lane changes, etc. And I do mark them negatively for that as well (less than 5).

I have a perfect 5.00 rating, so I guess I'm doing something right.

if its a normal rate, like in the middle of a week day. yes. they barely make any money on the ride itself

but if its like late saturday night and the rate is like doubled or tripled or whatever for no fucking reason then no.

I used to but my sister said I don't need to because they make enough and they're more concerned about getting 5 stars. It makes sense to me, every uber I've tipped always gave me a weird look when I would hand them money.
