For example, I've heard a movie called A Gentle Creature from, 2017 was pretty good. Go to check on it, nowhere to be found. No DVD. No streaming. Nothing.

Yes they all get released because Cannes is a place where they premiere many of them do not have distribution rights yet so they won't officially be "released" for months or even years later.

I guess it also really depends on where you live. For example I can already buy that movie.
