For all the complaints of "just put up a fence and poke em with a stick" I've heard, it doesn't seem to work at all once you have Trackers and Mortars on the map :/

Pretty much everyone who says you just put up fences and poke with a stick should be disregarded as a Kojima fanboy who either only played it for 2 hours or just listened to what other fanboys said.

That tactic completely falls apart when creepers, trackers, mortars and the guys with the machine guns start attacking you.

I'm about to leave the first area I think so this is good to hear, I've been enjoying it so far anyway, playing with a bow instead of poking with a stick

I found an upgraded stick right before I went into the 2nd area, traded my bow for it thinking "meh, I guess I'll do the stick poke thing." then got my fucking ass handed to me in the next area.

So yeah, don't make that next stick. Stick with bow.

It has problems at the start, but it gets pretty enjoyable and challenging.

IMO the game was really marketed wrong cause there's a real survival horror feel that comes in that nobody really talks about.
