Great movie not enough people have heard of or seen last year. Aside from a somewhat over the top and over acted character who isn't in the movie much, it's all around pretty solid.

@EastKingStar oddly I just suggested it to you the other day, don't know if you have Netflix but thought I'd tag you anyways.
@WafflehouseJK Don't know of you've seen it between when I last mentioned it several months ago and now, but I know you're a movie guy and think you'd enjoy it at least if you haven't seen it and have Netflix.

Decent movie.

Yeah, it's not some amazing masterpiece or anything but it's a nice gem and since it's on Netflix now, and Netflix's movie selection hasn't been the greatest lately with a lot of the "new" stuff added being things they've already had before or things that are older. Just consider it something worth watching for everyone who enjoys movies since it's on Netflix now.

And this is a better than I could've said it.
It's a solid movie with an important message behind it all for an issue that is virtually unspoken of by anyone.

Hope anyone who takes my recommendation enjoys it at least.

Yeah he's great, Sicario got a lot of buzz but Hell or Highwater didn't get all that much mainstream mentions which is a shame.

Also, didn't know there was a Sicario sequel coming this year until now, so thanks for the heads up.

It was great. I couldn't help thinking it was Sicario but in the snow, but that's not a bad thing at all.

i watched Wind River yesterday and it was pretty good. it was stark and brutal, and honest i think. i really liked Sicario too. Taylor Sheridan is quickly becoming one of my favorite new writer/directors. i think i'll try to track down Hell or High Water too.

that being said, i do one a big issue with a couple plot points. they are separate plot points, but related, and i have the same problem with both of them.

one was with Jon Bernthal's character not realizing sooner that the guy he was telling about half a dozen times to do something about the would-be rapist was not going to do anything, and that he would have to take matters into his own hands. i feel like he should have realized that sooner given the circumstances, and given that the guy wasn't moving an inch in response to his commands. to be fair though, i don't know if that would changed the outcome any.

the other was with Elizabeth Olsen not realizing something was up with the security team after the one greenshirt guy noticed they were surrounding them and shit. i really had to cringe at the entirety of Jeremy Renner's speech to her in the hospital bed about how she survived and overcame and stuff, because the truth is her ineptitude in not recognizing a hostile situation when it presented itself got the sheriff guy and all those greenshirts she brought with her killed. when she temporarily defused the situation by asserting her FBI authority and then said "we're all after the same thing here" or whatever, i was just like "wtf you fucking idiot", because it was obvious at that point that they weren't after the same thing.

Yeah, that second point was a weird one. When they became hostile out of nowhere when everything was all cool between both parties a few minutes ago, it became very obvious that they were up to some shit or trying to hide something.
