CE is hilarious. This board thought PJ's was easily the best chain pizza place before they criticized the kneeling NFL babies, and now suddenly everyone thinks it's shit.

Papa John's isn't great by any stretch, but it's still better than every other fast food pizza chain by a healthy margin.

IIRC in discussions of pizza chains prior to Papa Johns' controversy, Domino's was the most popular pick for the least disgusting of the main four... for whatever reason; even back then people seemed to think Papa John's was the second worst of the four next to Little Caesar's.

Personally, I still consider Papa John's to be the most tolerable of the four, but I won't lose sleep over them going under since they're all nasty to me.

As far as the big three go:

Dominoes after the reboot > Pizza Hut if you eat it on occasion > Papa Johns > Pizza Hut if you have to eat it on a weekly basis > Pre-Reboot Dominoes

And yes, your local pizza place is probably better than any of the above, but dammit, sometimes you just need a quick large pizza for cheap and the chains win out there.

If I was concerned about money Little Caesars has the best price-to-taste ratio.

PJs is the best of the major chains but I don't order that type of pizza often. It's almost always Little Caesars or a local chain.

So one of the casinos I audit is in the middle of nowhere California and the client picks us up directly from the nearest airport (45 minutes away) so we are essentially trapped on the property for two weeks (we stay in their hotel).

This place has three eating venues: Their restaurant, a classic casino restaurant, wide menu of average food. The buffet which is only open sporadically during the weekdays. And a Pizza Hut Express. As a result, during those two weeks I eat like Pizza Hut like 8 times in a two week period. I don't even hate Pizza Hut, their personal pan pizzas are honestly pretty decent. But I basically don't eat it for the other 50 weeks of the year knowing it will make up a third of my diet during those two weeks.

My problem with Papa Johns is that they are in my experience undercooked. Now I don't like any national pizza chain and would prefer local pizza places any day but Papa John's is very bad.

People who think Pizza Hut is trash must not like thin crust pizza. Their thin crust is so many miles above Domino's and Papa John's flavorless thin crust trash that isn't even very crispy at all.

Haven't had thin crust from Domino's or Papa John's, but Pizza Hut's thin crust pizza is among the worst pizza I've ever eaten. Thin crust pizza should only be ordered from good pizza places.

Papa John's should have a deal where if you record yourself kneeling for the anthem at or while watching any sporting event, you get a free side item with your pizza order. That would increase sales like over 9000%.
