There are awful people on both sides. But when you think of the kindest people you know, what are they?

depends on where you live. both are quite nice, tho id say dems are more insufferable on average.

I live in Utah. Mormons are mostly republicans. Mormons are seemingly made out of sugar and puppy dogs on a genetic level. I think it's an evolutionary defensive trait to keep people from murdering them when they knock on random doors.

This is about as much of a contest as a new born kitten fighting a tank.

I have a pretty good mix of friends and the left leaning ones tend to be "nicer." By the same token they also are more likely to say I am outright wrong on certain opinions and try to dismiss things immediately.

The right leaning friends are a bit more "assholish" but more open to debate.

I hate to base anything off my sample of like 20 people though...

My liberal friends are more outwardly nice and amiable, but are less dependable and overall feel less loyal to you.

My conservative friends aren't as immediately sweet and kind, but in general tend to be true friends who are there for you when you need them.

I guess it kinda makes sense in reality? Though TBQH the "kindest" people I know are usually politically moderate.

So here's my experience.

Nicest-Old fashion, sweet Christians (Republicans) These are the people who will invite you to their home on Thanksgiving.

Normal-Democrats. They won't go out of their way to help you most of the time, but they don't go around hating on minorities.

Worst-Bigotry, anti-social programs (also Republicans)

I'm in favor of Democrats myself and like to give Republicans a hard time, but I always have a soft spot for the good Christians. (Not the fanatics. But who really believes in treating your neighbors well. Think Ned Flanders.)

Liberal friends will rat you out even if you did something like cheat on your girlfriend

Honestly I just thought of each of my friends and their political views, or more specifically whether they call themselves republican or democrat.

And with the exception of about 3 outliers, what i posted is accurate to my friend group specifically.

For instance not ONE of my right leaning friends has ever just dismissed my opinion outright.
On the other hand, almost every one of my right leaning friends is more blunt and less worried about what other people think so they come off assholish.

Really couldn't tell you. Politics is generally something I only talk about with people who bring it up first irl and that's not really an interesting topic in the first place. Even then all I know is where they lean not if they're republican or democrat

Republicans seem less inclined to wear their politics on their sleeve in person around here. On top of that, those I know are a pretty small sample size relative to the amount of Democrats I know.

In general, far more Democrat bad apples, but larger sample size. Most kind people I know are probably Democrat, but a larger sample size. Republicans kinder / more polite on average, but a smaller sample size.

I really can't answer that question with any real objectivity.

People on one side say they've seen nice and bad on both sides and aren't just creating a huge dichotomy.

The other side is just spitting on the opposing side mercilessly and claiming how their side is so much better...

A vast majority of the liberals I know are generally pretty normal people. Lots of generic dudebros where I work for the most part, and 90% of my good friends online.

A vast majority of the republicans that I know or have known are

a. Prone to saying racist things really casually when they think no one who will get upset is listening

b. Prone to talking about people behind their back

c. Really bitter about people in general

But on the surface they will try to portray themselves as friendly "down home" people. It's a lot more heartbreaking to make friends with people and then watch them reveal how shitty they really are tbh

I'm a minority in California, and most of my friends that I actually hang out with are libertarian or republican. I have a good number of Democrat friends on Facebook, but they never really hit me up to hang out. So I guess Republicans since I actually hang out with them IRL.
