Like, I'm thinking about it, and the more I think about it, the more questions come to me.

At first, things would be nice, yeah. You meet some pretty android girl in the year 2054. She's cute, she's efficient... but then, a few weeks into dating, she pops the L word. And you're like... I dig you robo-babe, but, love? Slow down.

But then you're like... wait, love. Can she even love? Aren't her emotions just simulations of the real thing? If so why would she choose to express love toward me? Is that a choice she made or was she programmed to make it? She chose to date me in the first place, and I've been pretty real with her, so if she decided that she loves me, does it even matter at that point if it's real love or simulated love? Is there even really a difference when the brain is just chemicals and electrical signals?

Then her battery gets low and you take her home to plug her in, and even though she's in energy saver mode, so not even conscious (to whatever extent an android girl can be conscious), you feel compelled to kiss her soft, synthetic lips... and then you realize that maybe you love her too. And then you're like, fuck, she's a thing. Do I love a thing? Is it real love or was I just programmed to love her? Wait, which of us is the android again? Oh, right, she's the one that needs plugged in every night. I just recharge by dying for a few hours. ... We really aren't that different, are we? Still, loving a machine, that's kinda...

Then your thought process is interrupted when your jealous bitch of an ex calls and tries to brag on some new guy she's dating and you're like "no, yeah, android girls are fine after all"

If you were dating an android, how much control would you have? I'd like to think all her settings and everything would be encrypted, or set up in such a way that you can't have access to them. If you could just pop open her chassis and mess with her 'free will' AI any time, it's not free will at all.

What would it be like for an android, theoretically run by sound, technical logic, to be angry at you over something silly that she just happens to take personally? Imagine coming home one day and finding your computer smashed, because she was jealous of how much time you spend with it. That would be fucking weird. Would she see the computer as a fellow machine, or just a thing? How would an android perceive herself relative to the world around her?

If a cyborg is a human with machine parts, and an android is a machine with machine parts, what would a machine with human parts be? If they were to add some sort of biomechanical element to her, would she be a cyborg as well, or would that be another classification of being? What if they made it possible for android girls to reproduce? Imagine having your android girlfriend run a self-diagnosis and tell you she's pregnant. That would be fucking weird.

And what's even weirder is how some of the stuff I've brought up ITT may be actual problems people deal with in the future. Shit, man...

So you're out with your cutie android gf. All of a sudden, this eight-foot-tall bug monster comes out of nowhere to try to absorb her so he could hold a fighting tournament and destroy the world. WTF, right?
