I got it for 25 bucks and the beta was fun enough.

I mean, I might still play the online. But the story mode is way too tedius for it to be fun for more than 10 hours. Unless there's some co-op shit in the story mode I'm just not seeing (which is possible) or the game really changes in the next hour I really don't understand what they were thinking.

The air/food/water system is poorly balanced for the early game IMO

Have you gotten the upgraded campfire and farms? I'm guessing your issue is dealing with eating and drinking right?

Yeah, the biggest issue is food/water.

I've got the campfire to make clean water, but like food is really fucking hard to come by. Apparently I need a potatoe to start a farm, but I ate all my potatos just to get back to base camp :/

On top of that, I just now figured out that I literally have to reboot the game to repopulate wildlife to hunt, so I guess I could have just done that and farmed goat meat instead of running all over looking for animals to hunt that were not there cause I wiped them out :/

When I'm actually getting to fight zombies it's fun still, but after I nearly starved just trying to find food I got kind of pissed.

Yeah, I'd restart after every chapter so you'll be able to stock up on goat meat until you can start a farm. I screwed myself by bingeing for the first 4 hours or so.

There's a side step move in the one handed skill tree that's really helpful with this IMO

So now I've just finished the part where you have to search the medical ruins for the wheelchair/data.

Like, the game is really fun when you're actually sneaking through the ruins and stuff. I nearly shit myself when I got to the big room that was covered with the spider monster things. I thought i was fucked cause I only had one molotov, but I managed to sneak past them by distracting them and jumping across boxes and stuff

The food/water/air was getting annoying, but it's starting to let up now that they let me build water tanks and farms and stuff.

I still think they needed to balance this base management stuff better, though. It grinds the fun stuff to a halt.
