I have a dumb TV with HDMI ports and a few USB ports, a desktop computer, and a spare Android phone. Right now I've got a laptop hooked up to the TV with HDMI and I have a wireless keyboard and mouse to control it and open up Netflix, YouTube, etc. That means my laptop is parked in one spot indefinitely to act as a HTPC. It would be nice to have my laptop to use sometimes.

Not sure how the quality is for Chromecast or how convenient they actually are. They're on sale here and I'm considering it and just using my old phone as a cast device. But I wonder about the quality vs. how I'm set up now.

I'd get one if you have streaming shit that works with it. pretty nice if you want something on bigger screen and quality looks like normal hd shit.

plus you can continue using your phone will it's streaming

I have the regular Chromecast and its good. I think they also have a 4k one. I know some people prefer having a UI on the tv though, so for that you would need a Roku or something.

Cool thanks for the input

I don't really care about UI on the tv honestly. I guess I'm a people more concerned that my phone's battery sucks and it might cause issues. Won't know til I try
