Look, I'm an English teacher and I don't care about spelling (I correct it but I don't take off points). If I don't care, nobody should. Like my old linguistic prof said reacting to the flack he got for having an Ebonics class, if the person understands you, it's proper English.

in context he's right...that context likely being a twitter comment section where people will often use spelling and grammatical errors to claim "winning" an argument because you can't have a good argument if you spell a word wrong...

I remember I met a dude on GameFAQs who hated acronyms and shortened words. I think it was an RPG board and I used POW for Power, MAG for Magic and LVL for level and so forth. This turbonerd dude came in going crazy about how I'm a lazy person by not wanting to spell out the whole words and used sloppy typing instead. I told him to chill, that it was not a big deal and that even the game itself used shortened words like that. The dude went on about how it's only two more letters to type to get the full words so why was I so dumb and low in IQ that I was not able to type it. It was fucking awful. I asked him what website was we on and he said GameFAQs and I said WRONG we are on Game FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS spell it all out you lazy bum. Check mated that nerd.

For example, this is a fucking video game websight and some people here act like you need to always write and post like you're going for a giant speech in front of lawyers and professors.

like from the link, some people: are dyslexic (or have some other learning disability), have a different native tongue, never learned to write some words properly (or forgot), just don't care to write properly, and so on.

I'm not gonna waste my time figuring out as to why, so as long as I understand the person, I don't really care.
