Companies may be starting to rethink their ties to the National Rifle Association in the wake of last weeks massacre at a Florida high school, with a major bank and car-rental giant announcing Thursday they were dropping partnership programs with the NRA.

First National Bank of Omaha, the nations largest privately owned bank, said Thursday it will not renew its contract with the NRA for a branded Visa card.

The NRA has had a huge hand in lobbying for gun sales and lax gun laws, which have allowed for private citizens to get their hands on assault rifles.

They have a large share of the blame to bear.

What does "lobbying for gun sales" mean? If you're miffed that the NRA encourages people to exercise their rights, that says more about you than the NRA.

What "lax gun laws" do they advocate? Why shouldn't a law abiding person be allowed to purchase a sporting rifle?

Sale of new assault rifles was banned in 1986. The number of actual Class 3 weapons used in committing crimes annually is zero. They're $20,000+ collector pieces.

The NRA wants law abiding people to be able to exercise their rights. The government failed at every single level and refused to prevent this shooting and refused to stop this shooting. Yet you put the blame on the NRA? Sure.
