Nobody can leave or enter until classes are over. Do you think this could help in curbing school shootings?

Medical officials, police, etc. are exceptions.

Or private school.

Yes, it would curb school shootings dramatically.

I do find it funny, though, that some people feel curbing the freedom of students a little bit is less preferential to curbing the Constitutionally-protected fundamental rights of all American citizens.

Is it going to be bulletproof glass all over, or big heavy doors?

Closed campuses just keep the kids on-site and prevent incidental and more "subtle"/quiet harm. A person with a gun doesn't much care about subtlety and can break in. Once you have a gun on a campus you're probably not going to be stopped by a simple locked door.

Also, my school was a closed campus and had it so all external doors were locked during the day, where you had to go through the office (or be buzzed in and observed via camera), so it always throws me when people suggest things I always had.

If the school can afford bulletproof glass, that should be a thing for any entryways, tbh. If they don't have the budget...I'm not sure what they can do to increase security. Something needs to be done though.
