the point is more that firefighters only go into buildings where they can reasonably expect to be ok
obviously running into a burning building is dangerous no matter what, but when it gets to the point where the structure is going to collapse they're not allowed to enter

I'm totally unsure about the time frame of the downed 17, but as experienced and brave as I am, it would have taken me roughly 2 minutes to get a clean shot off at the shooter. More if on another floor.

Even with that, even if police were 2 minutes behind me, I'd be in there and feel it my duty to take out the shooter.

As far as weapons in this situation it wouldn't matter. Unless you are talking death toll only.
Would have the correct handgun for my situation. Plus the concealed backup.

Going in solo with no plan and with no idea how many potential shooters there are while outgunned sounds suicidal.

Sure firefighters enter burning buildings, but they plan and do a risk assessment first. They don't go in blindly charging in with no regard to their personal safety and definitely not solo.

You guys do realize a security guards job is to call the local police right? He can verbally tell people to leave but he has no authority to arrest or shoot suspects even if he witnessed a crime.

A kid, who came face to face with the killer mid-assault, managed to distract him long enough by throwing a phone at his face, so he could escape. You had teachers laying down their lives to save students.

What did this cop, supposed protector of the people do? Hide in the bushes like a damn coward. Didn't even care to come up with a tact to at least take attention away from the shooter and his rampage.
